New applications for PVC and PU coated textiles
|
| Abstract: |
A Flemish SME is looking for industrial partners to jointly develop new technological applications for PVC and PU coated textiles. The company is one of the leading transfer coating companies in Europe and, produces PVC and PU coated textiles up to a width of 220 cm. Advantages of the technology are the ability to produce soft, elastic and flexible articles and the possibility of low coating weights.
|
| Description: |
The SME is a producer of PVC and Polyurethane coated textiles. This innovative technology is currently applied for producing artificial leather, medical mattresses protection, protection clothing and several other technical applications.
It is believed that the offered technology has the potential for many more applications and specific products in various sectors. The proposers invite industrial partners to jointly develop new applications for their technology.
The proposing SME offers proper production capacity and know-how. They have several production lines for vinyl and polyurethane coating (up to 220 cm width), printing, lacquering and embossing (leather) on woven and knitted fabrics.
The Flemish SME has built up a huge know-how to add various characterisitcs (fire retardancy, water vapour permeability, antistatic and antibacterial properties) to these products.
Innovative Aspects: The proposed technology has the advantage that the production of very soft, elastic and flexible articles is possible. Low coating weights are possible (down to 70 g/m²), still giving products with high technical properties. They can work according to different standards (British, French, European...)dependend on the products and the demands. The R&D department is flexible and open to new challenges: they can quickly respond and adapt the product for the specific needs. For projects involving a combination of known properties results can be expected within the month.
