A South East UK WEEE collection company is looking to co-develop or license mobile phone recycling container technology. It is also interested in other types of interaction and possibilities for development which producers of metal recycling containers may present.
The client is a recycling collection company for mobile phones, offering collection for a range of clients including county government and commercial properties. The client currently has three pilot proof of concepts pending. Success on these pilots requires a solution offering:
• Security from tampering and theft
• Appearance clearly designed for mobile phone collection
• Padded inside to protect the phones from damage
• Terrorism proof
• Flexiblity on installation
Technical Specifications / Specific technical requirements:
Bins featuring advances in the following areas are sought (standard, generic equipment will not be considered):
• Materials testing of the outside of the bin
• Non-destructive testing methods to prove the phones can be deposited easily and reliably in the bins
• Dimensional /mass measurement to see how much each bin can hold in weight and in number of units of phones.
• Testing for terrorist activities on bins
• Measurement of mechanical forces such as brute force applied to the bins in attempts to access the phones inside
• Temperature / thermal measurement to ensure the external bins can withstand snow, wind, rain, etc
